The Anti-Rant

Some stories are worth ranting about. Some have been beaten into the dirt by every hack writer that has a deadline to meet. The following are topics that I will NOT rant about:

Steroids in Baseball – Just assume everyone is juicing and you may be pleasantly surprised. And to Eric Neel, who tries valiantly to put a different spin on the story: No. Nobody is going to come forth and announce that they did steroids just for the glory of it.

My brackets are busted – Well duh! I’ll also spare you the jokes about the girl in accounting who will win your pool by picking the games based on mascots. Sometimes that’s a really good idea ok!? Oh yeah, and nobody cares what Billy Packer thinks. Concentrate on real basketball folks. Its a lot more fun.

Todd Bertuzzi’s cheap shot – Bill Simmons does give a nice rundown on our country’s voyeuristic tendencies.

The Kobe trial – As pointed out by Tony Bruno on the radio this morning, a CBS Sportsline article on Kobe’s accuser going to trial features a large ad prominently displaying a woman “dressed” in a Los Angles #8 jersey. That's just wrong.

I also won’t (for the moment) rant about hockey, NASCAR, professional golf, or women’s basketball. Not because they are over-covered, but just because I don’t really care about them.
