Point Guard = Essential
If there were a 10 commandments of basketball, this would have to be one of them. Without a solid point guard, you are going nowhere. Don't give me this line about Jordan's Bulls and the Shaq Lakers not having point guards. The Triangle offense is a little bit of a beast of its own and still requires someone to initiate the offense (Pippen, Fisher). On a micro-scale, you need look no further than the Cavs and Celtics battling for the last playoff spot in the East. When the Celtics introduced Chucky Atkins as thier point guard, well, everyone laughed. But when they were done laughing, the C's had gone on a tear and won 7 of 10 jumping right back in the mix. The Cavs meanwhile are coming off a similar tear sparked by trading for Jeff McInnis and have slumped ever since he got injured.
