Larry Brown vs. AI
When it comes to this whole mess, I can't help but agree with this story by Adrian Wojnarowski on ESPN. Somebody please tell Brown to either do something about Allen, or shut up! Sure seems like he's looking for a scapegoat to deflect the blame of his less-than-stellar season. He's a great coach, no question, but he may be trying too hard to be a father figure to Allen.
Sixers are still a tough team. If Larry would just shut up, they could concentrate on building off a solid foundation of AI, Coleman, McKie, Mutumbo, and Snow. Then again, he probably likes the attention.
On a side note, ain't it funny how 3 teams that last year seemed to be the East's only hope of a bright future (Sixers, Raptors, Bucks) are now all out of the playoffs? What went wrong there? Over dependance on star players? Lack of supporting cast? Poor coaching? All 3 teams need some tweaking if they are gonna come back to last year's promise. Especially when the new kids on the block (Nets, Celts, Pistons) are not going anywhere. And you can't count out the Hornets either. The East has promise for the future, and it may not be as far behind the West as some believe.
