NFL Draft - Fun and Folly
2 thoughts right away:
1. It is no surprise to me that Jimmy Johnson is considered such a good drafter. He makes a lot of sense. If you have your eyes on someone and you know that other people rate him lower, trade down, pick up an extra pick, and get your guy. (like Dallas did)
2. This is exactly what the Bengals did NOT do. They picked a guy that wasn't going to get picked for 7 or 8 more spots and even if he did, a comprable pick could have been made anyway. The 'Gals might as well trade all their picks to the Pats for Bledsoe because they obviously have no clue as to what they are doing. They prove it year in and year out.
I do love the NFL draft. Not as much as the NBA draft, but its up there. I just like to see GM's make their moves, and in the NFL your draft picks are essential. You never see player for player trades anymore, just players for picks. So if you can't pick good, you lose the value that those picks represent. I also have a lot of faith in the Patriots' scouting and picking skills, so I want as many picks as possible in exchange for Bledsoe.
